Special Events

The Key Project

Ongoing

The Key Idea™ invites Cape Codders and visitors to create a piece of key inspired art and writing that will become part of a large-scale community art exhibit at Cotuit Center for the Arts in Oct 2015. This multigenerational project explores what is important at different stages of life though the metaphor of a key.  People of all ages can participate by selecting a key, then creating a piece of art with a written explaination of what the key might open, start or do, alternatively what the key might secure or close.  Keys are objects that recall vivid memories and inspire powerful concepts.

Salon of Shorts

Ongoing: 3rd Wednesday of every month, 7:30pm

Cotuit Center for the Arts offers an open mic series called Salon of Shorts on the fourth Wednesday of each month in the Art Studio. Award-winning poets, playwrights, and spoken word performers Christine Rathbun Ernst and Gregory Hischak host the series, which encompasses all types of performances: poetry, storytelling, essay reading, music, performance art, improv, and stand-up.
