Each year there are several signature special events including the annual Poetry and Chili Festival, Entertainment Tonight!, our monthly Wine and Music Wednesday gatherings, the monthly Salon of Shorts, 2nd Wednesday Theater and the annual Art and Souls Masquerade Ball.  

 

Salon of Shorts

Ongoing: 3rd Wednesday of every month, 7:30pm

Cotuit Center for the Arts offers an open mic series called Salon of Shorts on the fourth Wednesday of each month in the Art Studio. Award-winning poets, playwrights, and spoken word performers Christine Rathbun Ernst and Gregory Hischak host the series, which encompasses all types of performances: poetry, storytelling, essay reading, music, performance art, improv, and stand-up.

Come Join Celeste Howe and Larry Marsland as they sing your favorite songs from Bacharach to Berlin and everything in between. Ted Myers will be tinkling the ivories as these two Cape Cod vocal treasures delight you with sincere and soulful song. This August the Center will travel back in time to the good old days of vaudeville.  We are pleased to present the Brazen Belles, a Cape Cod based burlesque troupe. The Belles bring a variety of talents: singing, dancing, acting, wit, sass, and of course, seduction to the stage.

These groundbreaking female artists broke barriers to carve spots for themselves at the top of the touring and recording industry, selling millions of albums that topped the charts and established lasting legacies. 15th Annual Art And Souls Costume Ball

October 30, 6:00pm

The 15th Annual Art and Souls Masquerade Ball will take place the night before Halloween, Friday, October 30.  There will be music, dancing, and “bone-chilling” refreshments. Sunday Student Showcase

The Sunday Music Showcase is a series of free monthly performance events featuring students from across the Cape. This series is the result of a fantastic collaboration between the Cape Cod Conservatory, Cotuit Center for the Arts, Cultural Center of Cape Cod and Wellfleet Preservation Hall, who have joined forces to present local student talent in inspiring, artistic locations.

We will be featuring local artisans who produce fine arts, photography, jewelry, clothing, hand woven items, greeting cards, home furnishings and more. Holiday refreshments will be available.

Key Idea Donations

Ongoing

The Key Idea™ invites Cape Codders and visitors to create a piece of key inspired art and writing that will become part of a large-scale community art exhibit at Cotuit Center for the Arts in Oct 2015. This multigenerational project explores what is important at different stages of life though the metaphor of a key.  People of all ages can participate by selecting a key, then creating a piece of art with a written explaination of what the key might open, start or do, alternatively what the key might secure or close.  Keys are objects that recall vivid memories and inspire powerful concepts.
