Each year there are several signature special events including the annual Poetry and Chili Festival, Entertainment Tonight!, our monthly Wine and Music Wednesday gatherings, the monthly Salon of Shorts, 2nd Wednesday Theater and the annual Art and Souls Masquerade Ball.  

 

Salon of Shorts

Ongoing: 3rd Wednesday of every month, 7:30pm

Cotuit Center for the Arts offers an open mic series called Salon of Shorts on the third Wednesday of each month in the Art Studio. Award-winning poets, playwrights, and spoken word performers Christine Rathbun Ernst and Gregory Hischak host the series, which encompasses all types of performances: poetry, storytelling, essay reading, music, performance art, improv, and stand-up.

3rd Annual Kentucky Derby Gala

May 7

Join us for Cotuit’s annual Run for the Roses!  Celebrate the Kentucky Derby Cotuit Style!

We’ll have live betting, a hat parade and contest, photo ops with horses, surprise events and of course, mint juleps!  The race will be broadcast live on our high definition 26 foot movie screen, so plan to join us a cheer your horse and jockey! 

STRETCH / HOOK

May 28

DeAnna Pellecchia, Artistic Director of Boston's KAIROS Dance Theater and visual artist John Cira will premiere STRETCH / HOOK, a collaboration with world-class pianist Kenny Werner, May 28, 2016 at the Cotuit Center for the Arts. STRETCH / HOOK is a live performance integrating dance, sculptural installation and music into what promises to be a provocative and electrifying experience.

The Center’s annual gala fundraiser featuring live performances from the year’s theatrical productions, a feast of Hors d’Oeuvres, Full-Service Bar, VIP Lounge, Live and Silent Auctions, and Dancing into the wee hours with the incredible rock & roll of the Rip It Ups!

Meeting House Chamber Music Festival Concert

July 17

The Meeting House Chamber Music Festival continues its chamber music series at the Cotuit Center for the Arts with a program of music for violin, cello and piano on Sunday, July 17 at 7:30 pm.  This concert will feature two classical masterpieces - the Trio in B Major of Johannes Brahms and the Mozart Trio, K.542.  Also on the program, a contemporary work by Cape Cod composer Ronald Perera - his piano trio composed in 2002.  Performing will be violinist Joyce Hammann, cellist Matthias Naegele, and pianist and Festival director Donald Enos. 

Wine & Music Wednesday Aug 2016

Wine and Music Wednesday is an open house held in our Gallery on the third Wednesday of every month from 6:00pm to 7:30pm, with wine tasting and live music.

Square Dance

August 21

We’ll have plenty of room to do-si-do at our first authentic square dance.  Professional live calling and great music ensure this will be a rip-roaring evening celebrating one of the most popular American dance forms.  Come early for a group lesson, and then prepare to swing your partner round and round.

16th Annual Art & Souls Costume Ball

October 29, 7:30pm  

Come celebrate the 16th year of our horrifyingly fun Halloween dance party -- this year's theme will be "Sweet Sixteen Zombie Prom Night!"  Time to party with the undead!

Enjoy music, dancing, and “bone-chilling” refreshments.
